To obtain novel insights into gene functions in Drosophila, mouse and zebrafish it is key to generate precise genetic knock out models and to apply cutting edges technologies for unraveling the underlying mechanisms of the loss of function phenotypes. These technologies include a wide spectrum of genome manipulation methods, of nucleic acid, protein and lipid analysis as well as cell biological assays and bioimaging technologies. The key technologies, which are applied in our Lab are outlined in the following.
